I realised that i should stop talking about my current life status now... say some more and i might just find myself in some 2m by 2m cell with the toilet bowl as my best friend.

I also realised that i have a fear for... speed. I don't mind sitting in a car performing stunts or going at high speed, just as long as i am not the driver. This fear emerged after my trip to Thailand last year. Over there, I played Go-Kart and boy, they are not those you see in Singapore. They are real and can reach a max speed of 60km/h. Well, don't really want to relate the whole story again but let just say the incident made me develop a fear for speed. So the seaboat handling course i mentioned in the last post wasn't a really smooth one for me. Thank goodness i passed. Haha.

Been browsing through my friends' blog and i realised they have a common topic, BGR. Well, i would say it is a normal thing cause no one is an island of its own and everyone seek company. I do not know about females but males at my age do hope to have a companion. Sometimes, when we get to book out, other than family, the next person we like to see is someone we like, someone to do stuff together or simply someone to roam the streets together.

I... well, I am currently in the stage of single but not looking. Friends have been labelling me the tag "gay" cause apparently to them, I seem to find little interest in girls. But hey! Like any hot-blooded male, i do find the opposite sex attractive. It is just that i am more shy and do not openly express my opinions on females. Whenever i see an attractive female on the street, i do take a few more looks, just that i don't comment on her beauty or sense of dress. Different people have different taste, so what i find attractive might not be attractive to you.

Life is still the same for me... The new year didn't sprang any good surprises on me and apparently i am still stuck in NS. Haha. Hope to do some travelling this year, to Taisekiji especially. Myabe I should change my status to single but looking but all depend on fate i guess. Myabe the right one have not appear yet...

An end marks the start of a new beginning...

Finally, Land Phrase is over and it marks the end of my Combat Diver training.

    Woohoo!!!

No more being tagged as a trainee, no more being the lowest lifeform in the whole of NDU and lesser restrictions. Woohoo!

Land Phrase ended with FTX(Final Training Exercise). Well, FTX was SUPPOSED to be our show, whereby once we get our mission objective, we are to do everything from the planning to the executing ourselves. It was rather fun and everyone could feel that this is really a wartime situation and we must accomplish the mission without fail. So on the day where we are going to execute the mission, everyone is alert, super-motivated and everything is done nicely. This actually continue throughout the whole mission and it was a success.

Oh, guess i forget to tell you that we were split into two teams. I belong to the first team and we would have enjoyed the mission more if not for the instructors constantly changing our plans but nevertheless, the objective is still met and everyone is glad and happy.

The end of Land Phrase means that we are going to be posted to different units and it means separation for everyone. Most of the guys are posted to UDG while the others CDG. I don't actually mind where i am going but i felt sad that i was separated from my cliche, being the only one out of the whole gang crossing over to CDG. Ouch. Although being in CDG means i do not need to stay in, enjoy 8 to 5 everyday and no more going into the jungle, it is not enough to compensate the loss of being away from my close friends. But alas, i have to suck it up. No point whining and bitching about it at this stage i guess.

The weekend after the FTX is simply crazy for me. Once i book out, i wasn't at home most of the time. Friday was spent drinking with friends and i reach home at around 6 plus in the morning. Than i was out again, to get some shopping done before Oko. This was followed by a midnight movie, Night At The Museum.

    Night At The Museum

It was a great show and surprisingly, it has a good plot for a comedy. Great for people who just want to have a laugh.

Sunday was slightly less hectic than Saturday. At least i am able to take a break before joining my friends for a session of karaoke before booking in.

This week, everyone goes around doing their own stuff. The CDG guys are busy with seaboat handling, a skill essential for being a member of CDG. Everyday is liberty day and seriously, after staying in for so long, liberty seems like something out of the norm. By the third day, everyone is sick of liberty. But hey, since it is a chance to get out of camp, lets not waste it and it is always good to take a breather outside.

For the UDG side, they seems like they have lots of stuff to do. However, what they do is well... secret.

Oh well, i guess changes and separation are just parts and parcels of life. It is how you deal with it that is important.

As the days passed, everyone knows that Land Phrase is going to end and we are going to be posted out soon. So generally there is this feeling of expectation and excitement. "Where are i going? What are we going to do in the Final Mission?" are just some the thoughts everyone have.

Oh well, i don't really care so much as this is just my National Service. Where i go my superior decide for me. Complete my training, my service and hooya! Back to the civilian world! But now that we are going to shake off the title of "trainee", everyone can't help but feel.. relieved. As our now Staff Neo always says, "You guys are just trainees, the lowest life form in NDU." So getting out of Dive School is in a way a promotion... well at least the 27th Batch will be the lowest life-form now, not us. Haha.

What am i saying? Anyway, to sum it up, just glad to be out of Dive School and move over to the Ops Unit, whichever it may be.

Last 2 days in camp was simply... heaven. Thursday was simple lecture in the morning and a movie in the afternoon and another one in the evening.

    What? Movies??

Yes yes, the first movie was titled "Bravo Two Zero". Based on a true story, it shows 8 men from SAS, British elite force carrying out a mission behind enemy lines in Iraq during the Gulf War in 1991. Wow, can really see that they are highly trained as they can inflict a lot of damage before being caught. Our Course Commander for Land Phrase wanted us to see this movie because it is related to our training...

Okie... kind of scary you know. Please, let us don't get involved in any war.

The second one was Umizaru 2.

    Umizaru 2

Need i say more? But do take note they are Coast Guards Divers while we are Military Divers. So job scope different and no, none of us will ever become a hero like Daisuke Sensaki. Haha.

Friday was slack too. Morning was spent clearing out space for the 27th Batch while afternoon was training on a... um... how do i say it? Just take it as normal training ba. Haha.

Went for JJ Nite(a programme of JJ orientation camp) after booking out. Somehow, the mood was different. In the past, up till 10 plus, everyone was still very high, shouting cheers and dancing like there is no tomorrow. This year, however, they included a session whereby everyone was supposed to cry and appreciate the OGLs for the effort they put in right in the middle of JJ Nite. Thought that was supposed to leave for the last day? Oh well...

Walking down the school campus did bring back lots of memories. It seems just like yesterday that i am a normal student rushing around for lessons yet now i am an ex-student, living a life after the JC phrase. How time flies...
