PC Show 2008
In case you didn't know, which i doubt so, the PC show is now on-going at Suntec Convention Centre, occupying (gasp) level 3, 4 and 6.
Woah! Look at the size man!
I was there on friday and saturday and it is no joke trying to navigate within the sea of people. What i realised from this PC show is that it is the battle of the brands, literally.
Level 3 was dominated by Singtel and Sony, exposing themselves to anyone wanting to go up to level 4 and 6. Furthermore, Singtel is giving you a MacBook Air (gasp) when you sign up a 3-year interent plan. How cool is that?
Level 4 is the battleground of all the computer brands and the winners are those who occupy a good spot. When you enter the hall, ASUS, acer and Toshiba's booth is just right in front of you. Dell is just right behind, but sadly heavily overshadowed by ASUS and acer. HP is stucked in a corner and sad to say, heavily covered by Toshiba banners. Compaq and Lenovo and also located at a corner and it is kind of hard to see them through Samsung and Sony (again!) banners. I guess you get the picture, right?
Level 6 is dominated by different small companies selling all kind of accessories. From hard disks to thumbdrives to earphones, you can find them all at level 6. The only major brands are Starhub, whose booth and crowd is a far cry from Singtel and Epicentre, the premiun reseller of Apple products. Speaking of Apple, i finally get the chance to have a first-hand look and feel of MacBook Air and boy, it is love at first sight. The feeling of carrying it in your hands is just so cool and it is hard to resist the sleek design. Luckily i am broke or else i might just bring it home. Haha
