    Tekong...

Finally set foot on Pulau Tekong this week.

What? You have not been to Tekong?? Than where the hell you have been training during your BMT??

Well, i have been undergoing BMT training in NDU lor... haha. Ask the Commandos too. They undergo their BMT training in their camp too, right?

Anyway, went to Pulau Tekong to see wild boars. Yeah right. It is for navigation training la. Haha. The trip is to train us on how to navigate with a compass and take into account number of paces to determine roughly the distance covered and see whether you tend to drift left or right. Another training is on how to navigate with a map. Plan the route and execute it and see whether you are able to follow your planned route. Not much of a problem with the open terrain map navigation but close terrain was shitty... Last but not least was getting used to the radio set. Carrying it around while navigating is one thing. Able to communicate with HQ is another thing. Guess we learned quite a lot from this trip.

Oh, in case you EVER noticed, my last post said that my current status is light duties, so i only join my team for planning, not execution. Haha. All i said above was their experiences. Was mending the radio set for HQ. Kind of fun initially but it gets very boring later on.

Tekong wasn't as bad as the seniors said. In fact, we were well taken of. Slept on safari beds, whacking was limited to squad level and although everyone felt tired, Tekong was kind of fun. Can see that the whole island was meant for military training but excuse me for not being able to reveal much details here. Haha.

Anyway, the week has been peaceful. Let hope this peaceful situation can carry on through the next 5 weeks.
